The GRT Single Dual-Port Fiber Optic 40G Gigabit Bypass Ethernet Server Adapter GH4002EBPLR-V3.0 is a PCI-Express X8 network interface card that includes two fiber optic (LR) 40 Gigabit Ethernet ports on a PCI-E adapter. This adapter is geared toward inline network systems and maintains network connectivity in the event of a system failure.
The GH4002EBPLR-V3.0 Dual-Port Fiber Optic 40 Gigabit Ethernet Bypass Server Adapter supports normal bypass and disconnect modes. In Normal mode, the ports are independent interfaces, while in Bypass mode, all packets received from one port are transmitted to the neighboring port, and in Disconnect mode, the adapter emulates switch/path cable disconnection.
The GH4002EBPLR-V3.0 server adapter can bypass or disconnect its Ethernet ports in the event of a host system failure, power shutdown, or software request. In Bypass mode, the Ethernet port connection is disconnected from the system and switched to another port to create a cross-connect loopback between Ethernet ports. Therefore, in Bypass mode, all packets received from one port are sent to the neighboring port and vice versa. This feature bypasses a failing system and provides maximum uptime for the network. The GH4002EBPLR-V3.0 Dual-Port Fiber Optic 40G PCIE Bypass Server Adapter includes an on-board WDT (Watchdog Timer) controller. The adapter's software driver or software application can write commands to the onboard WDT controller. The adapter's software driver, WDT controller, and bypass circuitry provide an interface to control and manage the adapter mode.
The GH4002EBPLR-V3.0's Dual-Port Fiber Optic 40 Gigabit Ethernet Bypass Server Adapter is based on the Intel XL710-BM2 Ethernet controller and offers superior product performance.
